Hi, I'm Dr Laurence Wroe.

Accelerator Physics and AI Safety Research

Physicist with over a decade of experience in accelerator physics, mathematical modelling, and systems engineering. I've led international projects at CERN and UK laboratories, collaborating across research, medical, industrial, and defence domains. Currently based in London and directing focus to technical AI Safety research.

  • Research scientist at Generality Labs on science of evals and developing an eval auditing framework.
  • Researching methods to mitigate misuse risks from open weight models through a BlueDot career transition grant.
  • Founder & CTO of Exceleray, a consultancy focused on particle accelerator design for high-impact and beneficial societal applications.
  • Refining RadMaps, a tool for visualising access to radiotherapeutic cancer treatment.
